I was super excited about Semana Santa in Elche 2025. I started planning way ahead, like weeks before. I searched online, asked some local friends, and read a bunch of travel blogs to figure out where to go.

As soon as I landed in Elche, I hit the ground running. First, I went to the Basilica de Santa María. Man, the architecture there is just mind – blowing! I walked around, stared at the beautiful domes and the detailed carvings on the walls. It felt like I was transported back in time. I even joined a small guided tour, where the guide told us all kinds of interesting stories about the place.
Next, I headed to the Palmeral of Elche. I hopped on a little bike they rented out nearby and rode through the palm groves. The palms were so tall and the air was fresh. I stopped a few times to take pictures of the unique landscape. There were some locals having picnics, and I even joined one of them for a bit. They shared some local snacks with me, and I must say, they were delicious!
Then, I made my way to the Museo Arqueológico y de Historia de Elche. I walked up the steps, bought my ticket, and went inside. There were so many artifacts there, from ancient pottery to old coins. I spent hours just looking at everything, trying to imagine what life was like back then. I even asked one of the museum staff a bunch of questions, and they were really patient with me.
For the evening, I went to the town square. There were street performers everywhere. I watched a guy doing some crazy juggling acts and a group of dancers performing traditional Spanish dances. I clapped and cheered along with the crowd. After that, I found a small local restaurant. I sat down, ordered a plate of paella, and sipped on some local wine. The food was amazing, and I really enjoyed the laid – back atmosphere.
Overall, my Semana Santa in Elche 2025 was an unforgettable experience. I got to see so many great spots, meet wonderful people, and taste delicious food. If you’re planning to go during Semana Santa in Elche, I highly recommend checking out these places. You won’t regret it!
