Well, I decided to explore Serbia. First, I booked a flight to Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia. I landed at the airport and took a taxi to my hotel. The taxi driver was really talkative, telling me some local stories on the way.

Once I checked into the hotel, I dropped my luggage and headed straight out to the city center. I walked around the streets, looking at the old buildings. The architecture there is a mix of different styles, like Ottoman and Austro – Hungarian. It’s really cool to see how these different cultures left their marks on the city.
I visited the Kalemegdan Fortress. I climbed up the walls and walked around the ancient structures. There were some cannons there, and I could almost imagine the battles that took place in the past. I also saw a lot of locals and tourists having picnics in the park near the fortress. It was a really relaxing and lively scene.
Then I went to the Nikola Tesla Museum. I’m not really a science – geek, but it was still really interesting. There were all kinds of inventions and displays about Tesla’s life. I learned a lot about his contributions to electricity and technology. I even saw some replicas of his famous experiments.
For food, I tried some local dishes. I had cevapi, which are like small grilled meat sausages. They were so delicious, especially when eaten with some fresh bread and onions. I also had a taste of rakija, a traditional fruit brandy. It was a bit strong, but it was a part of the local experience.
I took a day trip to Novi Sad. I took a bus there, and the journey was about an hour. Novi Sad is known for its Petrovaradin Fortress. It’s called the “Gibraltar of the Danube”. I walked around the fortress and enjoyed the view of the Danube River. There were also some small cafes and shops inside the fortress area.

Back in Belgrade, I went to a local market. There were all kinds of things for sale, like fruits, vegetables, handicrafts, and clothes. I bargained a bit and bought some souvenirs for my friends and family.
As my trip was coming to an end, I packed my bags and headed to the airport. Looking back, it was an amazing experience. Serbia has so much to offer, from its rich history and culture to its delicious food. It’s definitely a place worth visiting.
