Okay so yesterday I decided to track the whole West Ham vs Nottingham Forest match for my blog. Been doing this for a while now, figure some folks might wanna see how it went down without sitting through 90 minutes.

Getting Set Up
First thing, I pulled up two browser tabs – one for live stats feed, another for video stream. Grabbed my coffee and messy notepad, ready to scribble anything important. Kicked off right when they showed the starting lineups.
First Half Chaos
Forest came out swinging hard early. Saw Antonio try that header in the 15th minute – close one! Wrote down Bowen missing that sitter around 27th minute mark. Then WHAM – Paqueta nails that curler top corner at 34 minutes! Scrawled “BANGER GOAL” in all caps with the time. Last note before halftime: Kudus hitting crossbar. Man that guy’s fast.
Second Half Drama
- 48th min: Forest equalizer – total defensive mess from West Ham
- 63rd min: Yellow card for Coufal (dumb tackle near box)
- 71st min: Bowen redemption! Tap-in off Emerson’s cross
- 89th min: Areola wild save (nearly spilled my coffee)
Post-Match Cleanup
After final whistle, spent like two hours matching my chicken scratch notes to official timestamps. Triple-checked substitution orders cause Forest made three at once – headache to untangle. Rewatched key moments slow-mo to explain how Bowen’s goal really happened. Almost forgot that VAR check around 55th minute – added it with red pen later.
Biggest struggle? Deciding which near-misses count as “highlights.” Ended up picking just two from each team where keepers went full stretch. Whole thing took longer than the actual match – typing this at 1am with pizza boxes everywhere. But hey, practice makes perfect right?
