It all started when I saw some really cool grid drawings on the internet. I was like, “Damn, that looks so awesome! I wanna try that too.” So, I decided to give it a shot.
First things first, I needed to figure out what tools I’d need. I started by looking around my house. I found an old sketchbook that I hadn’t used in ages. That was a good start. I thought, “Well, at least I have a place to draw.”
Then, I realized I needed a pencil. I rummaged through my desk drawers and found a few pencils. Some were dull, but I sharpened them up. A sharp pencil is key, you know? It helps you make those precise lines.
Next, I knew I needed a ruler. I mean, it’s called grid draw for a reason! I went to the kitchen and found a plastic ruler that we used for measuring ingredients. It worked just fine.
I also wanted to add some color to my drawings. So, I went to the local dollar store and picked up a pack of colored pencils. They were cheap, but they did the job.
With all my tools in hand, I sat down at my table and started drawing. I used the ruler to draw the grid lines on my sketchbook. It was a bit tricky at first to make the lines straight and evenly spaced, but I kept at it.
Once the grid was done, I started filling in the squares with my pencil. I followed a simple pattern at first, just to get the hang of it. It was kind of relaxing, actually, focusing on each little square.
After I got the basic drawing done, I took out my colored pencils and started adding some color. I experimented with different color combinations, and it really brought the drawing to life.
