Well, I recently had this awesome experience of stadium reading at Madejski. Let me tell you how I did it and share these 5 tips along the way.

Step 1: Pick the Right Spot
I started by scouting around the stadium. There were so many seats, but I knew I needed a good one. I walked up and down the aisles, checking out different views. I didn’t want to be too close to the noisy areas where people were constantly coming and going. So, I found a seat in the middle section, not too far from the action but also quiet enough to read. I plopped myself down and made sure my stuff was all set up.
Step 2: Get the Right Gear
Next, I had to gather my reading gear. I grabbed my favorite book, of course. Then I thought about the lighting. Stadiums can be a bit bright or dim in different spots. I brought a small foldable reading light just in case. Also, it can get a bit cold in the stadium, so I threw in a cozy blanket. I stuffed all these things into my backpack and slung it over my shoulder.
Step 3: Time Your Reading
I checked the schedule of the events at the stadium. I didn’t want to be reading when there was a super exciting game moment and miss all the fun. So, I planned to read during the breaks, like halftime or when there were long pauses in the action. I set an alarm on my phone to remind me when it was time to start and stop reading. This way, I could enjoy both the game and my book.
Step 4: Deal with Distractions
There were a lot of distractions in the stadium. People were cheering, talking, and moving around. At first, it was really hard to focus. But then I put on a pair of noise – canceling headphones. I played some soft classical music on my phone. It helped me block out the noise and get into the world of my book. Whenever someone tried to talk to me, I just gave them a friendly smile and pointed to my book.
Step 5: Share the Experience
After a while, I noticed a guy sitting next to me looking a bit bored. I asked him if he wanted to borrow my book for a few minutes. He was really happy and started reading. Then we started chatting about the book and the game. It was so much fun sharing the experience with someone else. Before I knew it, the game was over, and I had an amazing time reading in the stadium.

So, there you have it, these are the 5 tips I learned from my experience of stadium reading at Madejski. Give them a try, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too!
