So I figured since the World Cup is coming to Atlanta, I should probably figure out where to actually watch the games and what else to do there. I mean, I don’t wanna just show up and be lost, right?

Starting My Research
First thing I did was just open up my laptop and start searching. I typed in stuff like “World Cup Atlanta watch parties” and “best spots in Atlanta for soccer.” I ended up with a ton of tabs open, which was kind of a mess. I saw a lot of sports bars mentioned, but I wanted places that would really have a good crowd, you know, where people are actually into the game.
Making a List of Potential Spots
After scrolling for a while, I started a list on my phone. Here are the main places that kept popping up:
- Midtown Sports Bars: A bunch of bars in that area are supposed to have huge screens and lots of fans.
- The Battery Atlanta: This place near the Braves stadium is always hyped for big games. They have a giant screen and a ton of restaurants around.
- Some pubs in Virginia-Highland: I read these are more for the hardcore soccer fans, which sounds perfect.
I also knew I needed to check out more than just bars. What if I want a break from the games?
Figuring Out What Else to Do
This part was easier because I’ve been to Atlanta before, but it’s been a while. I thought about the main attractions.
- The Georgia Aquarium: Always a solid choice. I remember it being huge.
- Piedmont Park: Good for just walking around and getting some fresh air between matches.
- Ponce City Market: I heard this is great for food, which is obviously important.
I figured I’d mix and match. Maybe catch a morning game, then go to the aquarium, then find a spot for an evening game.

Putting It All Together
So my final plan is basically this: I’m gonna base myself around Midtown because it seems central. For the big games, I’ll head to one of the bigger bars in that area or maybe make the trip to The Battery for the real party atmosphere. On days when there’s a game I’m not super invested in, I’ll use that time to visit the aquarium or explore Ponce City Market. Piedmont Park is my backup for when I just need to get away from the crowds for a bit.
It feels good to have a rough plan. Now I just have to hope the weather is decent and the crowds are fun. Fingers crossed!
