I recently took a trip to Kaunas, Lithuania, and I was blown away by the city’s rich history and amazing historical sites. Let me tell you about my adventure!

Day 1: Arrival and the Old Town
I landed in Kaunas and immediately jumped on a bus to the city center. As soon as I stepped into the Old Town, I was like a kid in a candy store. The cobblestone streets were lined with colorful buildings, and I started my exploration right away. I walked around, checking out the small shops and cafes. I stopped at a local bakery and grabbed a pastry – it was so good! Then I made my way to the Kaunas Castle. It’s not super big, but it has a lot of history. I climbed up the tower and got a great view of the city. There were some old cannons there too, which made me feel like a pirate or something.
Day 2: The Cathedral and the Ninth Fort
On the second day, I headed to the Kaunas Cathedral. It’s a huge and beautiful building. When I walked inside, I was in awe of the high ceilings and the beautiful paintings on the walls. I spent a while just looking around and taking it all in. After that, I took a bus to the Ninth Fort. This place is really important in Lithuanian history. It was used during different periods, and now it’s a museum. I walked through the old cells and read about the stories of the people who were there. It was a bit of a heavy experience, but it was really educational. According to some local historians, the Ninth Fort has seen a lot of significant events in the country’s past.
Day 3: The M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art

My last day in Kaunas was dedicated to art. I went to the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. There were so many cool artworks there. I walked from one room to another, looking at paintings, sculptures, and other forms of art. Some of the pieces were really modern and made me think a lot. I even talked to a few other visitors about what we thought of the art. It was a great way to end my trip.
Overall, my trip to Kaunas was amazing. I got to see so many historical sites, learn about the city’s past, and have some really cool experiences. If you’re into history and art, Kaunas is definitely a place you should check out!
