Well, I’ve been playing FPL for a while now, and the question of when to use the assistant manager chip has been on my mind. So, I decided to give it a shot and see what happens.

I started off by checking out what the experts had to say. Some said to use it early in the season to get a good start, while others recommended saving it for later when the fixtures get tougher. I was a bit confused, but I decided to go with my gut and use it in the fifth gameweek.
I logged into my FPL account and went to the team management section. There, I found the assistant manager chip and clicked on it. It asked me to confirm, and I did. It was that easy!
Once I activated the chip, I had to set up my assistant manager team. I spent a good amount of time looking at the upcoming fixtures and player form. I switched a few players around, making sure to pick those who were likely to score big.
The next gameweek rolled around, and I was super excited to see how my assistant manager team would do. I checked the results every few hours, like a kid waiting for Christmas. And guess what? My assistant manager team did pretty well! I got a decent number of points, which was a relief.
But here’s the thing. After that gameweek, I started to second – guess myself. Maybe I should have saved the chip for later? Maybe I could have got even more points if I’d used it at a different time?

I talked to some other FPL players about it. Some said I did the right thing, while others thought I was too hasty. It made me realize that there’s no one – size – fits – all answer to when to use the assistant manager chip.
Looking back at my experience, I think it depends on your overall FPL strategy. If you’re behind in the standings and need a quick boost, using it early might be a good idea. But if you’re doing well and want to use it as a safety net during a tough run of fixtures, saving it is probably the way to go.
In the end, it’s all about having fun and learning from your mistakes. I’m still learning the ropes of FPL, and this little experiment with the assistant manager chip was a great way to gain some hands – on experience. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll make a better decision!
