So yesterday I totally needed those starting lineups for the Brighton vs Fulham match right? Not for betting or anything, just cos my mate Dave’s obsessed with their new midfielder. Couldn’t find jackshit at first though. Google kept showing me crap from three days ago or weird fan forums full of guesses.

Where I started looking
First thing I did was check both clubs’ official Twitter feeds at 6PM UK time. Brighton’s account was posting pictures of seagulls like always, zero team news. Fulham’s was retraining sandwich recipes – seriously? Then I tried the Premier League app but that useless thing crashed twice before even loading.
The absolute mess
Now here’s where it got properly ridiculous:
- BBC Sport had this fancy interactive lineup predictor tool – pure fantasy football stuff
- Soccerway showed last season’s lineup when I refreshed
- Some Indonesian fan blog claimed Welbeck was playing goalkeeper
How it actually worked out
Finally remembered that FotMob app everyone talks about. Downloaded it, made an account – took like 5 minutes tops. Once match hour rolled around, their push notification popped up instantly with the full confirmed XI for both sides. Turns out Dave’s boy didn’t even make the bench – lol! Saved myself looking like an idiot in the group chat though.
Whole process took nearly an hour cos of all the dead ends. Next time? Screw the official sources, just waiting for FotMob notifications like a normal person. Sometimes the simplest solutions work best.
