Well, I just got back from Semana Grande Santander 2024, and it was an absolute blast! Let me share with you how I made the most of it with these 5 tips.

1. Plan Your Schedule in Advance
I started by getting a hold of the event schedule. There were so many things going on – parades, concerts, and traditional performances. I marked down the ones I really wanted to see. For example, the big parade on the second day was a must – attend. I set alarms on my phone so I wouldn’t miss any of the cool stuff. It was like having a treasure map of fun times.
2. Try the Local Food
Food is a huge part of any festival, right? I went around the food stalls like a hungry detective. I tried all sorts of local dishes. There was this empanada that was so stuffed with goodness, I had to get a second one. And the local wine? Oh man, it was like liquid sunshine. I chatted with the vendors, and they told me all about the recipes and where the ingredients came from. It was like a little food adventure.
3. Get Involved in the Community
I didn’t just stand on the sidelines. I joined in the local dances. It was a bit embarrassing at first because I didn’t know the steps well, but the locals were so friendly. They pulled me in and showed me how it was done. I also helped out at a community booth for a while. It was a great way to meet new people and really feel like part of the festival. I made some friends from all over the place, and we even went to a few events together.
4. Explore the Hidden Spots
While the main events were awesome, I also took some time to wander off the beaten path. I found this little park near the festival area that had the most beautiful view. There were some local artists selling their handmade stuff there. I bought a cool little souvenir. It was like finding a secret room in a big, fun house. I also discovered a small coffee shop where the barista made the best coffee I’ve ever had. It was a nice break from all the hustle and bustle.
5. Capture the Memories
I took my camera everywhere. I snapped pictures of the colorful parades, the smiling faces of the locals, and the delicious food. I even recorded some of the live music. It’s so cool to look back at those memories now. I shared the photos with my friends when I got home, and they were all jealous. It’s like having a little piece of the festival to keep forever.

So, there you have it. By following these 5 tips, I had an amazing time at Semana Grande Santander 2024. If you ever get the chance to go, give these tips a try, and I’m sure you’ll have a blast too!
