My Lineup Hunt Adventure
So this morning I fired up my laptop, coffee in hand, thinking I’d quickly check Elche CF’s starting lineup for that Levante UD game later. Figured it’d be simple, right? Spoiler: It wasn’t.
First, I opened my usual sports news site – the one I trust for local stuff. Typed “Elche Levante lineup” like always. Damn thing just showed me generic match previews and old stats from weeks ago. Zero actual team sheets. Felt like banging my head on the desk already.
Switched over to Twitter. Searched #ElcheLevante and #Alineaciones. Scrolled for ages. Saw a hundred tweets arguing about tactics, a few injury rumors, even a meme about last season’s draw… but no real leak or official post. Just fans guessing players. Massive waste of time.
Got stubborn then. Opened four more tabs – tried forums, checked two other news outlets, even peeked at the club’s unofficial fan page on Facebook. Same mess everywhere: outdated info, clickbait headlines promising lineups but delivering zip, or posts talking about everything but today’s starters. Felt my patience wearing thinner than cheap toilet paper.
Finally remembered the official Elche CF app – honestly forgot I even had it installed! Opened it up. Navigated through three menus, got sidetracked by merch ads twice, and finally found the “Match Center” section. Tapped it… and there it was. Plain as day. The actual starting eleven, bench players – everything. Released probably ten minutes before I looked. Felt equal parts relieved and dumb.
Wrote it down in my notebook immediately:
- Starting GK: Edgar Badia
- Defense: Palacios, Gonzalo, Bigas, Clerc
- Midfield: Gumbau, Mascarell, Fidel
- Attack: Collado, Mourad, Lucas Boyé
- Bench names: Werner, Josan, Nico, Nteka, Roco, Tete, Morente etc.
Double-checked it against a fresh notification that popped up on my phone from a sports app. Matched perfectly. Leaned back in my chair grinning like an idiot. Spent more effort finding this than making my damn breakfast. Lesson? Always go straight to the source app next time. Saved me the forehead wrinkles today.
