So, I was in Monaco di Baviera and wanted to hop on the metro. First off, I was like, “Where the heck do I get on?” I mean, I didn’t have a clue at the start.

I started by asking a local shopkeeper. He was a nice guy, but his English was a bit rough. He pointed in a general direction and mumbled something about a big square. So, I set off walking, looking around like a lost puppy.
I reached this big square, and there were people everywhere. I saw a sign that had the metro symbol on it, but it was in Italian. I guessed it was the right way and followed it. Down some stairs I went, feeling a bit excited that I might be on the right track.
Once downstairs, there was a ticket counter. I went up to the guy there and said, “One ticket, please.” He asked me where I was going, and I just mentioned a popular place I knew in the city. He gave me a ticket and pointed me to a platform.
I made my way to the platform. There were a bunch of people waiting. I stood there, looking at the signs above the tracks. I was trying to figure out if this was the right train. I asked a lady standing next to me, and she nodded and said something in Italian. I hoped she meant it was the right one!
After a few minutes, the train rolled in. I got on, found a seat, and just relaxed. Looking back, those first steps of finding where to get on the metro were a bit of a hassle, but it was all part of the adventure. And now I can tell you the key stations. The big square station is a major one, and the one near the ticket counter I got my ticket from is also important. If you’re ever in Monaco di Baviera and need to take the metro, just start with these stations and you’ll be good to go!
