Well, I’ve been using porteras for a while, and I’ve learned a thing or two about how to keep them in top – notch condition. Here’s how I did it step by step.

How to maintain porteras? Follow these steps to keep them new!

Step 1: Inspection

First off, I took a good look at my porteras. I held them up, turned them around, and checked every nook and cranny. I looked for any signs of wear and tear, like loose threads, scuffs, or stains. This way, I knew exactly what I had to deal with.

Step 2: Cleaning

I started by giving them a gentle shake to get rid of any loose dirt. Then, I filled a bucket with some warm water and added a little bit of mild soap. I dipped a soft cloth into the soapy water, wrung it out so it wasn’t dripping wet, and started wiping down the porteras. I made sure to be extra careful around the seams and zippers. For stubborn stains, I used a soft – bristled brush to gently scrub them. After that, I rinsed the cloth in clean water and wiped the porteras again to remove any soap residue.

Step 3: Drying

Once I finished cleaning, I didn’t just throw them in the dryer. Instead, I laid them flat on a clean towel in a well – ventilated area. I made sure they weren’t in direct sunlight because that could fade the color. I let them air – dry naturally, and I flipped them over a couple of times to make sure both sides dried evenly.

Step 4: Conditioning

After the porteras were completely dry, I took some leather conditioner. I squeezed a little bit onto my fingers and started rubbing it into the leather. I used small, circular motions, covering every part of the porteras. This helped keep the leather soft and supple, and it also protected it from cracking. I let the conditioner soak in for a while, and then I wiped off any excess with a clean cloth.

Step 5: Storage

When I wasn’t using my porteras, I wanted to store them properly. I stuffed them with some old newspapers to help them keep their shape. Then, I put them in a dust bag. I made sure to keep them in a cool, dry place, away from any sharp objects that could scratch them.

How to maintain porteras? Follow these steps to keep them new!

Following these steps, my porteras still look as good as new! It might seem like a lot of work, but it’s totally worth it to keep your porteras in great condition for a long time.
