Well, I’ve been dealing with cars for quite a while, and one day, I noticed that my car started to go offside. That got me really curious, so I decided to find out why.
First, I started with the tires. I took a good look at them, checking their tread depth and air pressure. I walked around the car, squatting down to peer at each tire closely. I measured the air pressure with a gauge I had in my garage. Turns out, one of the tires had significantly lower pressure than the others. I remembered a mechanic once telling me that uneven tire pressure can cause a car to go offside. So, I pumped up that tire to the recommended level.
But after that, the car still seemed to veer a bit. Next, I thought about the wheel alignment. I drove to a local repair shop. The guys there put my car on a special machine. They adjusted some parts under the car, moving things around, tightening and loosening bolts. They told me that over time, normal driving can knock the wheels out of alignment, and that’s a common cause of offside.
Even after the wheel alignment, there was still a slight issue. Then I considered the suspension system. I took the car back to the shop again. The mechanics inspected the shocks and struts. They pushed down on the corners of the car, watching how it bounced back. They found that one of the shocks was a bit worn out. They replaced it, and it took them a while, using all sorts of tools to get the old one out and the new one in.
Finally, after all these steps, the car stopped going offside. It drove straight as an arrow on the road. Through this whole process, I learned that offside in a car can be caused by multiple factors. Uneven tire pressure, misaligned wheels, and a worn – out suspension system are all common culprits. And if you notice your car going offside, it’s best to check these things one by one to get it back in shape.
