Alright so today I wanted to actually get my hands on some FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I figured it’s time to stop just talking and start doing.
Starting the Search
First thing I did was go to the official website. I opened my laptop, typed in the address, and waited for the page to load. The site looked pretty crowded with countdowns and big pictures of players. I clicked around for a bit, trying to find where the ticket section was.
I found a link that said “Tickets” and clicked it. It took me to a page explaining the different sales phases. There was this “Random Selection Draw” thing for the first wave. I had to register my interest first. So I filled out a form with my name, email, and country. It asked which matches I was interested in and if I wanted hospitality packages. I just picked a few group stage games to keep it simple.
Dealing with the Process
After registering, I got an email confirmation. It said I’d be notified if I was selected for the draw. The waiting part is annoying. I checked my email like five times the next day, but nothing. I knew it was silly, but I couldn’t help it.
A couple weeks later, another email popped up. I got selected! I was actually surprised it worked. The email had a link to the ticket portal and a special access code. I had a specific time window to make my purchase.
When my time slot opened, I logged back in. The site was slow, probably because everyone was trying to get in at once. I had to refresh a few times. Once I was in, I saw a list of available matches. I selected the ones I wanted and added them to my cart. Then came the tricky part: the payment.

Payment and Confirmation
I entered my credit card details. The site asked for a lot of security info, which is good, I guess. I hit “Submit” and held my breath. The page spun for what felt like a minute. I was sure it was going to crash.
But then, a confirmation page showed up. I got a booking reference number. I took a screenshot immediately, just in case. A few minutes later, another confirmation email arrived with all the details. I felt a huge wave of relief. It actually went through.
So what did I learn?
- You have to register early. Don’t wait until the last minute.
- The random draw is just luck. You can’t control it.
- Be ready right when your purchase window opens. The good tickets go fast.
- Have your payment info ready to avoid delays.
It wasn’t a super smooth process, but I got it done. Now I just have to wait a couple years for the actual games. Feels pretty good to have it sorted.
