I went to the app store and typed in “ecalendar”. There were tons of them! I just picked one that had a lot of downloads and good reviews. Once I downloaded it, I opened it up, and there was this whole setup process.
I had to create an account. They asked for my email and a password. I was a bit worried about giving out my email, but I thought, “Eh, whatever, let’s just get this thing going.” After that, I had to set up my profile, like adding my name and a profile picture. I just used a random emoji as my pic.
Then came the fun part – adding events. I started with the easy ones, like my dentist appointment. I clicked on the day it was supposed to be, then clicked the “add event” button. It asked me for the name of the event, the time, and a description. I wrote something like “Go to the dentist, hope he doesn’t drill too hard”.
I also added some recurring events. For example, I have a weekly basketball game. I set it to repeat every week on the same day and time. That was pretty cool ’cause I don’t have to add it manually every week.
But there were some glitches. Sometimes, the app would crash when I tried to edit an event. I’d be in the middle of changing the time, and boom, it would just close. I had to open it up again and start over. That was really annoying.
Another thing was the notifications. I set them to remind me 15 minutes before an event, but sometimes, they would come an hour early or not at all. I had to keep checking the app myself to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Despite these problems, overall, I found the ecalendar useful. It helped me keep track of my schedule better. I could see all my events at a glance on the monthly view. And it was really convenient to have it on my phone so I could access it anytime, anywhere.
