So, I decided to try playing indoor soccer during the World Cup season. First, I headed to the sports store. I grabbed a proper indoor soccer ball. It’s smaller and lighter than the outdoor one, which is super important for indoor play.

Then, I found an indoor soccer field near my place. I booked a time slot for myself and a few friends. When we got there, I stretched my body. You know, it’s crucial to avoid getting hurt.
Once on the field, I started with some basic dribbling. I moved the ball around my feet, trying to control it smoothly. I practiced changing directions quickly, which is key in indoor soccer because the field is smaller.
Next, I joined a small scrimmage with my friends. I tried to pass the ball accurately. I aimed for my teammates’ feet, not too hard but with enough power to reach them. When I got the ball, I looked around for open spaces and decided whether to pass or take a shot.
Taking a shot was a bit tricky. I positioned my body right, swung my leg, and kicked the ball towards the goal. Sometimes I missed, but that’s how you learn!
After a while, I noticed that communication was super important. I yelled at my teammates to let them know where I was and where I wanted the ball.

As the game went on, I got better at reading the flow of the game. I anticipated where the ball would go and moved to be in the right place at the right time.
By the end of the session, I was exhausted but super excited. I realized that playing indoor soccer during the World Cup is a great way to get into the spirit of the game. It’s fast – paced, fun, and you can improve your skills quickly. So, if you’re a beginner like me, just go for it!
