When I set out to figure out how to arrange Atlético de Madrid’s line – up against Celta de Vigo, I first dived into watching recent matches of both teams. I watched Atlético de Madrid’s last five games, taking notes of which players were in good form, who was scoring goals, and who was making key passes. I also did the same for Celta de Vigo, trying to find out their strong points and weaknesses.
After that, I started to think about the formation. I considered the traditional 4 – 4 – 2 formation that Atlético de Madrid often uses. But then I thought, “Hey, maybe we can shake things up a bit.” So, I decided to experiment with a 3 – 5 – 2 formation. This would give us more midfield control and allow for better counter – attacks.
Next, I had to pick the players. For the defenders, I chose the ones who were good at tackling and had a solid defensive record. I put Giménez in the middle, flanked by Savic and Hermoso. They’re tough guys and can stop Celta de Vigo’s forwards.
In the midfield, I selected Koke, Saúl, and Lemar. Koke is a great leader and can control the tempo of the game. Saúl is strong and can win back the ball easily. Lemar, on the other hand, is fast and can create chances.
Up front, I went with Griezmann and João Félix. Griezmann is a goal – scorer, and João Félix is creative and can break through the defense. I thought they’d make a great attacking pair.
But I didn’t stop there. I also thought about the substitutes. I had players like Carrasco and Correa on standby. They can come in and change the game if needed, maybe bring in some fresh energy or a different style of play.
Finally, I considered the tactics. I told the players to press high when Celta de Vigo had the ball, try to win it back quickly, and then launch fast counter – attacks. I also emphasized the importance of teamwork and communication on the field.
After all these steps, I felt pretty confident about the line – up. It was a result of careful analysis, a bit of experimentation, and a lot of thinking. Whether it’ll work in the actual game against Celta de Vigo remains to be seen, but I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out!
