Today I wondered what the date would be 29 weeks from now. Just needed to plan some family stuff down the line. Started simple: grabbed my phone calendar app. But then I thought nah, relying on apps feels too lazy. Wanted to figure it out myself.

Tried counting on fingers first
Stared at the wall calendar hanging in my kitchen. Counted weeks one by one like “this week is July… next week August…” but got dizzy around week 15. Realized I’d messed up when September popped up twice in my count. Total headache.
Switched to pencil math
Grabbed a junk mail envelope and scribbled this down:
- 1 week = 7 days
- So 29 weeks = 29 × 7 days
Did the multiplication old-school: 20×7=140, then 9×7=63. Added those – 140+63=203 days total. Felt pretty smart for two seconds.
The calendar chaos
Started adding 203 days to today’s date. Wrote down all months’ days:
- July: 31 days
- August: 31
- September: 30
Subtracted each month’s days from 203 while muttering “August sucks with its 31 days…” Got stuck when hitting November cause couldn’t remember if it has 30 or 31 days. Googled it secretly. Felt like cheating.

Reality check
After 10 minutes of scribbling:
Real date = July 21 + 203 days = Feb 9 next year.
Then checked my phone calendar. It showed Feb 10. What?! Missed leap year or something? Felt so dumb.
My takeaways:

Counting manually works but eats time. Calendar apps are faster but turn your brain to mush. Honestly? Just divide 29 weeks by 4.348 to get rough months – close enough for planning dinners.
