Getting Sidetracked
So then I thought, “Fine, I’ll find the dedicated table page.” Went hunting for the “League Table” section. Took a couple of clicks. Found it. Scrolled down… and down… Christ, these tables are dense.
- Saw ‘Plymouth Argyle’ first. Not too high up, mid-table kinda stuff. Points number caught my eye.
- Scanned for ‘Derby County’. Had to scroll further down. Weird they weren’t neighbours. Derby were sitting quite a bit higher. Hmmm. Okay, so difference was obvious just by position.
- But what’s the exact points difference? Stared at both rows. Plymouth 52. Derby 62. Math ain’t my thing, especially not this early. Grabbed my phone calculator. Punched in 62 minus 52.
Felt a bit thick doing that, honestly. Should be simpler.
Finishing It Up
Turns out, ten points clear. Derby sitting ten points above Plymouth. Interesting gap. Could see the playoff spots were still in reach for both, but Derby definitely in a stronger position looking at the full table. Clicked back and forth a couple times just to be sure I hadn’t miscounted the positions or points on either row.
