Man, June always sneaks up on me. Midterms were wrecking me last month ’cause I totally winged my schedule. This time? Figured I’d actually plan it out proper-like.
The Ugly Mess Before
Searched my whole desk – sticky notes everywhere, random phone alarms, scribbled dates on my hand once. Total chaos. Felt like spinning plates while juggling.
My Dirt-Simple Setup
Grabbed my cheap-ass wall calendar – the freebie one from that dentist appointment. Spread it flat on my floor next to:
- A pile of pencils (gotta be erasable, trust me)
- My class syllabus with exam dates circled like a madman
- Every to-do list I could dig out of my backpack
Oh, and coffee. Lots of coffee.
How I Blocked It Out
Started circling major things right on the calendar squares:
- Big red circle for FINAL EXAMS (June 25th & 26th)
- Blue squares for weekly quizzes every dang Monday
- Big green blocks for project deadlines (June 10th for Bio, June 17th for History)
Didn’t forget life stuff either. Scribbled “Mom’s Bday” smack on June 5th so I wouldn’t get yelled at again. Forgot last year. Big mistake.

Scheduling the Daily Grind
Next came my daily chunks. Split weekdays into three dumb zones:
- Morning Review (7-8am): Cram vocab or formulas while cereal gets soggy
- Class & Notes Time (9am-3pm): Basically my normal schedule, highlighted yellow
- Deep Study Block (7-9pm): Turn off the damn phone & hit the books hard
Weekends got a big fat “MAJOR PROJECT WORK” block Saturday morning and Sunday arvo. Left Sunday nights free ’cause, well, burnout sucks.
How It Actually Plays Out
Tried it this week. Monday? Woke up late, skipped the morning review. BUT! Scanned the wall quick and knew I had Bio quiz prep crammed into that night block. Just erased and penciled in “Mourn lost sleep -> BIO QUICK FIX”. Still passed the quiz Tuesday.
It ain’t perfect. Sometimes Netflix eats the Deep Study Block. But seeing it all laid out? Majorly keeps my head screwed on.
The takeaway? Doesn’t need fancy apps or expensive stuff. Just a visual smack in the face saying “Hey dummy, this needs doing”. Simple pencils and cheap paper works. Still napping too much though.
