So yesterday I decided to finally make that detailed Liverpool-Southampton timeline I’d been meaning to create. Been a Reds fan since forever, and this season’s match was just bananas. Grabbed my laptop around breakfast time thinking this would be easy peasy.

The Messy Middle Part
Second half was where things got wild. Southampton scored twice quick! My notes were looking like chicken scratch trying to keep up. Timings started blending together – was that 63rd or 67th minute? Had to cross-check with three different live commentary sites. Took ages. Finally got substitutions sorted after tabbing between three different browser windows like a madman.
Final Stretch
When Jota scored Liverpool’s fourth around 84th minute, my cat jumped on the keyboard. Deleted half a paragraph. Cussed. Rewrote everything while replaying those last ten minutes twice to catch all stoppage time drama.
Final score ended up Liverpool 4 – 3 Southampton after all that chaos.
Why Bother?
Truth? Made this cause last season’s match broke my heart. Sat in Anfield upper stand with my lad when we conceded in extra time. He cried whole drive back to Wirral. This time wanted proper record showing how Klopp’s boys fought back. Took me three hours total – longer than the damn match itself! But when my kid texted “that timeline helped me understand footy better”, knew it was worth the headache.
