So today I was scrolling through football stuff on my phone, ya know, just killing time during lunch break. Saw people chatting about the Championship league table and got curious where Coventry City and Portsmouth actually stood these days. Figured I’d check it myself since I’m proper into this sorta thing. Grabbed my laptop and pulled up the official EFL website to see the latest.

How I Did It
Step one: Fired up the browser and went straight to the EFL official league table page. Scrolled right down to the Championship section. Eyes kinda scanned down the list row by row. Took a second but Portsmouth’s name jumped out at me.
Step two: Found Pompey sitting pretty right there next to number 10. Nice one, top half of the table! Then I kept scrolling further down looking for Coventry. Went past a bunch of clubs… Birmingham, Millwall… kept going… ah, there! Coventry City sitting at number 15. Just a bit lower down than Portsmouth.
Step three: Didn’t wanna just trust one look. Clicked the actual points column to sort the whole table properly, highest points first. Scanned it again. Yeah, sorted by points confirmed it clear as day: Portsmouth really was sitting higher up than Coventry City. Few places above them, actually.
Step four: Wanted the full picture, right? Checked the recent form for both sides. Saw Portsmouth had managed to scrape a few draws and wins lately compared to Coventry, who seemed a bit more… up and down. That kinda explained why Pompey were sitting so much higher.
That moment: Felt kinda obvious once I saw the numbers laid out, but it’s different seeing the actual standings side by side. Makes you wonder how things might shift over the next few weeks. As a Portsmouth supporter, seeing them doing that decently feels proper good, gotta say!
