Wanted to catch the Girona vs Mallorca match today but had no clue about the starting lineups. No TV channel showed the pre-game details, so I did what any normal football fan would do – started searching online like mad.

Step 1: Went Straight to Google
Typed “Girona vs Mallorca lineups” and pressed enter. First page showed some betting sites – didn’t trust those. Second result was some football forum with predictions. Scrolled past a dozen useless pages until I saw a site called “WhoScored” pop up.
Step 2: Checked Sports News Sites
Thought ESPN or BBC Sport might have it since they’re reliable. Went there around 45 minutes before kickoff – nothing. Just preview articles. Then tried “Flashscore” app on my phone. Only lineup placeholder cards with dashed lines – players not confirmed yet!
Step 3: Followed Club Social Handles
Remembered both clubs usually tweet lineups 1 hour before game time. Went to:
- Girona FC official Twitter
- RCD Mallorca official Instagram
Their posts had lineup info… mixed with player stats, ticket promotions, and fan hashtags. Took me 10 minutes to actually find the proper lineup sheets hidden among other posts.
What Finally Worked
Reloaded the Twitter feeds exactly at 1 hour before kickoff – there they were! Plain text format with player names and formation numbers. Copied both lineups and saved them like:
Girona
Gazzaniga, Eric García, Aleix García, Dovbyk…
Mallorca
Rajkovic, Copete, Radonjic, Larin…
Took me 30 minutes total but got it sorted. Pro tip: Club social accounts are messy but reliable if you check exactly at -60 minute mark.
