So today I wanted to figure out if Las Palmas changed their lineup against Rayo Vallecano. You know how it goes – managers love tweaking things, right? Woke up early before the match, grabbed my phone before even finishing my coffee. Head straight to the usual spots online.

The Info Hunt
First, hit up the club’s official social media feed. Scrolled and scrolled… nothing useful posted yet. Typical. Switched over to a couple of football news sites I trust. Some rumors floating around, nothing concrete. One site mentioned a defender might be out injured. Annoying when they don’t just say it plainly.
Kept refreshing like crazy. Finally, about an hour before kick-off, the official lineup drops on the league’s app. Bingo! Pulled it open and started comparing it to their last game sheet I had saved on my tablet.
Spotting the Changes
Okay, the main things jumped out:
- The backline shuffle: Cardona wasn’t starting this time. They moved Coco over to the right side instead. Looked like Park was filling his old spot. Big change!
- Midfield switch: Perrone got the nod in midfield instead of Loiodice. More defensive choice, maybe? Felt like a reaction to how Rayo plays.
- Up top: Munir stayed put, but Ramírez was on the bench right from the start. Kinda surprising after last week. Sandro got the chance instead.
Jotted all this down quick in my notes app, messy handwriting and all. Wanted to see how these changes actually played out on the field.
After the Game
Watched the whole match. Honestly? That defense change… felt shaky at first. Rayo kept testing that new side early on. Park looked a bit lost initially, but settled in okay after 20 minutes or so. Putting Perrone in helped screen the backline more, you could tell. Work rate was solid. Sandro though… didn’t do much. Felt like they missed Ramírez’s energy later when chasing the game.

End result was a draw, which probably felt fair. Those lineup changes – the defense tinkering and the midfield choice – made sense for grinding out a point away, I guess. Didn’t set the world on fire, but got the job done.
Finished updating my team notes document just now, adding today’s lineup and my scribbled thoughts. Realized my dog was scratching at the door the whole time I was typing – forgot to let him out! Busy morning figuring out someone else’s team sheet while my own life falls apart. Typical football fan stuff.
