Getting the raw match data
Okay so I really wanted to document this Premier League clash properly. First thing I did was plop myself on the couch with notebook and pen when the game kicked off at 3pm. Jotted down every single important moment real-time – goals obviously but also yellow cards, substitutions and those big referee decisions.

Filling in the gaps
Noticed I’d missed couple details though when I rewatched the recording later. Specifically forgot exact minute when Bowen got that nasty knock before halftime. Had to scrub through the entire first half footage three times before spotting it was 38th minute. Annoying but needed accuracy.
Then triple-checked Nottingham Forest’s equalizer timing because my scribble looked messy. Remembered their fans went bonkers at 67:20 mark. Verified against three different live text commentaries just to be safe.
Formatting nightmares
Started typing up the timeline using simple bullet points like:
- 15′ – Paqueta scores! West Ham 1-0
- 38′ – Bowen injury break
- 67′ – Awoniyi heads in equalizer
But the formatting kept breaking when pasting into my blogging platform. Had to redo the spacing like five times. Seriously almost threw my laptop when timestamps kept jumbling together after hitting publish preview.
Final sanity checks
Right before posting, made my wife sit through me reading entire timeline aloud. Caught two typos where I’d typed “62nd minute” instead of 52nd for a card. Also realized I forgot to mention that garbage time scuffle in stoppage time. Added that last bit just as she started nodding off.

Posted it finally at midnight feeling exhausted but satisfied. Got comments next morning saying Forest fans appreciated the Awoniyi goal detail – makes all the headache worth it really.
