Okay, so I had this idea to make a custom t-shirt, a “mimi” t-shirt, whatever that means, it just sounded cute in my head. I wanted something unique, something I made, you know?
Getting Started
First, I grabbed an old, plain white t-shirt from my closet. It was a bit wrinkled, but that’s okay, it added to the, uh, “vintage” look I was going for (totally intentional, of course).

Then came the fun part – figuring out what to put on it. I doodled some ideas on paper. Butterflies? Nah. Flowers? Too basic. Then it hit me: tiny little hearts! Lots of them! Super mimi!
The Messy Part
- I found some fabric markers I had lying around from some other project I probably never finished. Red, pink, and a sparkly silver – perfect!
- I laid the t-shirt flat on my kitchen table (after clearing away the breakfast dishes, obviously).
- And then… I just started drawing. Little hearts, big hearts, wonky hearts… all over the place.
It was a bit messy, I won’t lie. My hands were covered in marker, and I’m pretty sure I got some on the table too (oops!). But hey, that’s part of the DIY charm, right?
The Final Product (Ta-da!)
After letting it dry for a bit (while I frantically scrubbed the table), I held up my masterpiece. It wasn’t perfect, not even close. Some of the hearts were smudged, and the spacing was definitely… “organic.”
But you know what? I loved it. It was my mimi t-shirt, completely unique, and made with my own two (slightly marker-stained) hands. I wore that bad boy all day! I got a lot of looks and compliments!
