Okay, so I had this recipe that called for 80 grams of soy sauce. Problem is, all my measuring stuff is in cups, not grams. I don’t have a kitchen scale. So, I needed to figure out how to convert 80 grams of soy sauce to cups. Time for a little kitchen experiment!
My Soy Sauce Conversion Mission
First, I grabbed a bottle of soy * doesn’t matter the brand.

Then, I took my phone and search,I needed something to relate grams to a volume measurement. I found out density of soy sauce, then do a long caculation.
Eventually,I found a easier way, google search directly.
- I typed in “80 grams to cups”.
- The very helpful answer:It’s about 0.33 cups.
I don’t need to be super precise here. About one-third of a cup sounded right.
Putting It to the Test
I carefully measured out about a third of a cup of soy *’s about little bit more than 1/4 of a *’s looked a bit more.
Finally,I get what I want.
So, that’s it! No fancy tools, just a little bit of searching, and I got my soy sauce measured. Next time, maybe I’ll just eyeball it, I think.
