Okay, here’s my blog post about the melted butter candle experiment:
So, I saw this thing online about making a candle out of butter, and I was like, “No way, that’s crazy!” But then I thought, “Why not?” I mean, I love candles, and I love butter (who doesn’t?), so let’s give it a whirl.

Getting Started
First, I grabbed a stick of butter from the fridge. It was pretty solid, which is important, you’ll see why later. Then, I needed a wick. I didn’t have any actual candle wicks lying around, so I got creative. I unraveled a piece of cotton string. That seemed like it would do the trick.
Building the Butter Candle
Next, I took a knife and carefully made a hole down the center of the butter stick, going about halfway down. It was a little tricky because, you know, butter is slippery. I wiggled the string into the hole, making sure it was nice and snug. I leave some of the string sticking out the top, that is the wick.
The butter was starting to soften up a bit from my hands,I put the butter in a glass.
Let There Be Light!
Now for the moment of truth! I grabbed my lighter and carefully held the flame to the top of the string. It took a few seconds, but then…bam! It lit up! I had a butter candle!
Burning it
I will put it simple.
- It smelled amazing, like warm, buttery goodness.
- It burned surprisingly well. The flame was steady, and it didn’t smoke too much.
- It made my room smell delicious.
It was definitely a fun little experiment.
