Alright, folks, let’s dive into my little project from yesterday – making a Keith Urban poster. I’m no artist, but I’m a huge fan, and I wanted something unique for my home office.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my materials. I had a large piece of poster board leftover from my kid’s school project. I also found some old magazines and newspapers lying around – perfect for a collage-style background.

Building the Background
I started by tearing out pages with interesting textures and colors. No real plan here, just whatever caught my eye. Then, I grabbed my glue stick and went to town, overlapping the pieces randomly on the poster board. It looked like a beautiful mess at this point, but I trusted the process!
Finding the Perfect Image
Next, I needed a good picture of Keith. I spent a good hour browsing online, but many pictures’ quality is bad for print. Finally, I remembered I had an old concert program tucked away. I flipped through it, and bingo! There was a fantastic full-page photo of him mid-performance. Carefully, I cut it out.
Putting It All Together
With the background done and the photo ready, it was time to assemble. I played around with the placement of the photo for a bit, trying different angles and positions. Finally, I settled on a slightly off-center spot. I used a bit more glue – going for a slightly messy, “deconstructed” look – and stuck it down.
Adding the Final Touches
- I felt like it needed something more, I added a little detail.
- I carefully cut out the letters of his name from a magazine headline and glued them around the photo.
- Also, the poster is too big. I cut the poster board to make the layout perfect.
The Result
It’s not perfect, but I love it! It’s got that handmade, personal touch, and it’s definitely a conversation starter. It just goes to show, you don’t need fancy tools or skills to create something cool. Just a little creativity and some good old-fashioned elbow grease!
