Okay, so I had this little kitchen project today. I needed to measure out 80 grams of something, but my measuring tools are all in ounces. So, I was like, “Shoot, how many ounces is 80 grams?”
First, I grabbed my phone. No big deal, I thought I could handle this quickly. I’m used to switching between, like, inches and centimeters for my DIY projects, so I figured grams and ounces couldn’t be that much harder.

I did a quick search and found this: 1 gram is about 0.035 ounces.Okay, I can work with that. I could either be multiplying by 0.035 or dividing by 28. something,It felt like there were multiple paths to reach the right * it became simple math.
So, to convert my 80 grams to ounces, I grabbed my calculator and did this:
- 80 grams 0.0352739619 ounces/gram = 2.821916952 ounces
I simply punched in 80, multiplied it by 0.035, and boom! The calculator spit out 2.82.I rounded it in my head, of course. Didn’t need all those extra decimal places for my cooking!
So, there you have it. 80 grams is roughly 2.82 ounces. Problem solved, and I could get back to my kitchen project. Just a little everyday conversion, no sweat!
