Converting 30g Soy Sauce to tbsp? The Fast & Easy Answer Here!

Okay, so I needed to convert 30g of soy sauce to tablespoons for this recipe I was trying out. I’m not the best at kitchen conversions, and I usually just eyeball things, but this time I wanted to be a little more precise.

My Conversion Adventure

First, I grabbed my phone and did a quick search. It seemed simple enough. I just wanted to know the equivalent of 30g soy sauce in tbsp.

Converting 30g Soy Sauce to tbsp? The Fast & Easy Answer Here!

I found some information, but it looked confusing, different websites said different things. Tablespoons, grams, milliliters… my head was spinning. I just wanted a simple answer! I didn’t want to read a science experiment. I’m cooking, not taking an exam!

  • I found my trusty kitchen scale.
  • I zeroed it out with an empty tablespoon on it. (Gotta make sure it’s accurate, right?)
  • Then, I started slowly pouring soy sauce into the tablespoon until the scale read 30g.

It took a couple of tries. First, I added way too much, so I poured some back and again and again until I got to learn how much is that from my scale, then Bingo! I got to exactly 30g. It filled up more than one tablespoon, but less than two. After carefully pouring out the excess to hit that 30g mark, it looked like almost exactly two tablespoons.

So, there you have it! My hands-on experiment showed me that 30g of soy sauce is pretty much 2 tablespoons. I’m sure there’s some fancy scientific explanation for all this, but for my cooking purposes, this worked perfectly!
