Alright, so I decided to build my own “body shop,” basically a routine to get myself in better shape. I’m not getting any younger, you know? So, I started this whole thing a few weeks ago, and I’ve been keeping track of what I’m doing.
Phase 1: Getting Started
First, I figured out what I wanted to achieve. No crazy goals, just wanted to feel stronger and have more energy. I dug around online, found some basic workout plans, and picked one that seemed doable – mostly bodyweight stuff like push-ups, squats, and planks. I also decided to walk more, aiming for at least 30 minutes most days.
- Started with the basics: push-ups, squats, planks.
- Added daily walks.
- Kept it simple, nothing fancy.
Phase 2: Making it a Routine
This was the tricky part. I knew I had to be consistent, or it wouldn’t work. So, I set specific times for my workouts, like right after work before I get too comfortable on the couch. I also started tracking my progress in a little notebook. Nothing complicated, just writing down what I did each day. It’s kind of motivating to see it all there.
I also changed up little things. For example, I found out that walking get boring for me, so I changed walking up to jogging. Also, I will do some simple workouts during jogging.
Phase 3: Seeing Results (and Tweaking)
After a couple of weeks, I actually started feeling a difference. My clothes felt a little looser, and I wasn’t as winded going up the stairs. That was a huge boost! I realized I could push myself a bit more, so I increased the number of reps for some exercises and tried some new ones, like lunges. Ouch, those are tough!
- Increased reps as I got stronger.
- Added new exercises (lunges, ouch!).
- Felt more energetic and saw some physical changes.
Phase 4: Keeping it Going
Now, it’s all about maintaining this. I’m not going to lie, some days I really don’t feel like it. But I remind myself how good I feel afterward, and that usually gets me going. I also found that having a workout buddy helps, so I roped in a friend to join me a couple of times a week. Misery loves company, right?
It’s still a work in progress, but I’m pretty happy with how this “body shop” project is turning out. I learned that I don’t need a fancy gym or a ton of equipment, just some determination and a bit of a routine. I also feel more heathy than before. Building this routine is easier than I thought.
