Putting It Together
I grabbed a plain wooden advent calendar from a craft store – the kind with the little drawers. Then, I spent an afternoon carefully packing each drawer with my treasures. I used some colored tissue paper to make it all look a bit festive.
It was so exciting I almost give it a try before December!
The Final Touch
I wanted to add a personal touch, so I decided write a little notes with corny Christmas jokes that I found on the internet. I had to write it down one by one, and rolled them up and tucked them into each drawer along with the gifts.
It’s not perfect, but it’s mine, and I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out. It’s got that Aussie summer Christmas spirit, and it’s filled with things that make me smile. I figure that’s the whole point, right? Now, just gotta wait until December 1st… the hardest part!
