Okay, here’s my blog post about how I learned to wear platform shoes, written in a casual, conversational style:
So, platform shoes. They’re kinda intimidating, right? I always thought they looked super cool, but I was also totally scared of twisting an ankle and, like, face-planting in public. But I really wanted to try them, so I just went for it. Here’s how it went down:

Starting Small
First, I didn’t jump straight into, like, six-inch platforms. No way. I started with a pair of platform sneakers that had maybe a two-inch platform. Baby steps, you know?
I wore them around the house first. Just, like, walking from the kitchen to the living room, doing chores, getting used to the extra height. It felt weird at first, ngl. I felt like I was gonna tip over any second.
Getting Braver
After a few days of the “house-only” rule, I ventured out. I think my first trip was just to the grocery store. I picked a time when it wasn’t super crowded, just in case I needed to, you know, grab onto a shopping cart for dear life.
- First, I just go to grocery store.
- It’s okay. Then I go to the mall with my friend.
- Some people looked at my shoes, It made me a little nervous.
Practice Makes Perfect(ish)
Honestly, the biggest thing was just practice. The more I wore the platforms, the more comfortable I got. I learned how to shift my weight a little differently, how to walk more on the balls of my feet, and how to, like, not death-grip the ground with my toes.
Now, I wear the platform shoes to every where. I feel that I look pretty and * really makes me different.
I still wouldn’t recommend, like, running a marathon in them. I’m not that good. But I can confidently walk around, go shopping, even dance a little (carefully!) without feeling like I’m about to take a tumble. It’s all about finding your balance, literally.
