Neighbours Love Getting Stronger! Find out Community Building!

Okay, so, “neighbours love,” right? I was like, what the heck is that supposed to mean? But then, I got this idea to actually show my neighbours some love. I figured, everyone’s so busy, so wrapped up in their own stuff, maybe a little surprise would brighten things up.

The Prep Work

First, I brainstormed. What could I do? Bake cookies? Too cliche. Offer to help with yard work? Maybe, but I’m not exactly Mr. Green Thumb. Then it hit me: I could leave little “happy notes” on their doors!

  • I grabbed some colorful construction paper, markers, and some sticky tack (gotta be gentle on the doors, you know?).
  • I spent like an hour just scribbling down positive messages. Stuff like, “Have an awesome day!” or “You’re a great neighbor!” Corny, I know, but hey, it’s the thought that counts.
  • I even drew some little smiley faces and hearts. My artistic skills are… questionable, but it added a personal touch.

Operation: Spread the Love

So, next morning, super early, I sneaked out. Felt like a secret agent on a mission! I stuck a note on each of my neighbors’ doors, making sure they were nice and visible. The sticky tack was a lifesaver, by the way.

It took many time! Because I have many neighbours!

The Results

I didn’t really expect anything to happen, but the results were cool!

First, the old lady across the street, Mrs. Gable, She saw me in the yard later and gave me the biggest smile. She said the note made her morning.

Second, Later that day, I saw a couple of my other neighbors chatting by the mailboxes, and they were actually smiling and laughing.

Finally, I am so happy and realized that it’s the little things that can make a difference.

It wasn’t anything huge, you know? Just some paper and markers. But it actually seemed to make people a little happier. Maybe “neighbours love” isn’t so cheesy after all. I might even make this a regular thing!
